Chosen Solution

No. The water pump is bolted to the back of the timing chain housing just below the exhaust manifold. If in doubt, follow the lower radiator hose from the passenger side of the radiator to the metal pipe just under the oil pan and up behind the block between the engine and firewall. The metal pipe attaches to a connector between the pump and block and houses the thermostat between the pipe and "connector". The timing chain drives the water pump. If you are to replace the pump, the timing chain must be relieved of tension and the pump reinstalled properly in relation to the timing chain.

Agreed--not for a beginner +

yes metal water tube goes from radiator under oil pan up the back of motor inside metal tube is thermostat than a housing than water pump to engine be careful during reassembly not to tighten bolts until fully reassembled hand snug only.this gives play to adjust components once everything is in place tighten to specs
