Battery install without adhesive?

I messed up the adhesive strips so I cannot use them. Can I install the battery without the strips until new ones arrive?

Yes, you can, but you risk damaging other components in the phone or the new battery cables. The risk of the battery moving and causing problems is slight, but there is always a chance. I would suggest waiting until the adhesive comes.
