My computer got soaked...

I didn't even realise, I had an energy drink spilt in my bag. The soft cover of my computer got wet as well I didn't think it would affect my laptop, it wasn't much liquid for the whole bag. The following day I turned the computer and it worked for a short bit, but there was "no battery detected" statement or something of this kind. I unplugged the power cord, that is when I realised it was the beverage spill. I let the comouter to dry. I did a check - turned it on - it was working, so I switched it off. Later it didn't start at all I disassembled everything, dried, doesn't start. What can I do? It's the first time I've had trouble with my laptop, I still need this one to work, it's a bad moment for buying a new one, if there is any advice which part needs to be replaced I feel confident enough to do this...

Answer this question I have this problem too

Electronics Water Damage

Great guide on what to do, follow that guide.

But if your laptop gets wet, Dont try to keep using it. Even if it was the cover like you said, still open it and clean it.

If it was water, drying would help, but it was an energy drink, which are LOADED with sugar and sugar can leave a conductive residue on the board causing shorts.

If that doesnt work after cleaning the entire laptop, its probably dead and there is nothing really you can do. Your data will probably be fine and you can get it back, but the rest of the laptop is dead.

Also if it does work and you still get the no battery detected, the battery is probably dead and you just need to go and buy a new one.
