logic board replacement info
If I replace the logic board will the carrier(att) still recognize the phone? Is the SIM card the part that activates the phone to a carrier?

It is the logic board that is "paired" or "locked" to the carrier, unless the logic board was part of a phone that was initially unlocked.
If you plan on replacing the logic board, you need to find one that is either unlocked or locked to your carrier otherwise it will not recognize your SIM card.
