Why is it not reading my xbox one disc?

I bought this Xbox off of Ebay, and there weren't any warnings in the description of any problems. Unfortunately, i ran into one. I recently bought a brand new Battlefield 1 game, and I tried to play it. It didnt work. I ejected it and inserted it again to listen to it. The disc drive starts, then stops, for about 4 times until it gives up . I experimented with a xbox 360 disc, and the disc drive has no problem reading it and playing it. I tried this with four other 360 games and other xbox one games, and the same results occured. Any help?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Ok thanks. Just to know, what would be the correct way to replace the optical drive? Can i just swap out the old one?

When you say you tried it on 4 other 360 games, and other Xbox One games and got the same result do you mean they worked or didn't work like the Battlefield disk?

If Battlefield 1 is the only one that's not working I'd say it's got to be a disk problem and you should try and return it/exchange it. I've had a game disk and DVD get scratched up and my Xbox One just spins and tries to play it but can't.

@jtuck52 use your buyer protection from Ebay to return your Xbox. It will not get better and most likely will get worse. Somebody tried to poke you in the eye. Most likely issue here is a failed optical drive. Best person to ask would be @tronicsfix the console guru

Yes, send it back for a refund on Ebay. It's most likely a laser issue. Many times they will get to where they read some discs but not all of them.

Try This:

If that doesn't work, you may have to replace the disc drive or reinstall the firmware.
