How to dismantle MBP and clean the keyboard backlight after spill?

I spilled some coffee on my two weeks old MBP. It has dried and everything works, the only problem is that the keyboard backlight is strong just in the center of the keyboard (under TYUGHBN keys) and fades toward sides.

I think that it's caused by the coffee preventing the light from coming through the keyboard. Here is a similar problem described on an older model - Keyboard backlight only glows in center

It seems to be necessary to remove and clean the layers of plastic placed between the keyboard and the backlight diods. I've purchased some tools from ifixit and will try to do it myself. Any hints and suggestions will be very much appreciated.

Thank you! Any recommendations regarding the cleaning part?

It's according to what was in the coffee. I've cleaned parts using distilled water and it works fine if given the time to dry correctly.

There was only a little bit of milk in the coffee.

Look for the liquid submersion indicators that may have turned red. They will tell you if an area has gotten wet and needs cleaning.
