Have to power up using button on TV get only 1 channel

Remote only responds to 'Mute' button. It won't power up the TV. I can power up

the TV using the button at the bottom of the screen and then using all the other

buttons on the side of the screen and the TV functions perfectly.

I have checked the batteries in the Remote (they check OK, I have a professional meter). I put fresh batteries in it (made sure I had the polarity correct) but the Remote

still won't function. Please give me any clue or hints that I may have over looked.

Many thanx in advance

This has happened to a reported 6 million Samsung TVs. Mine included.

On most it is a couple of capacitors, but right now I have been unable to get Samsung to tell me which two.

You can contact Samsung. On some they have been sending of a repair tech. If you don't get satisfaction or get the run around like I did you can join the class action law suits.
