do I need to replace cracked screen to pull it off?

yup. you read that right.. im in a bit of a financial pinch as a college student.. im currently ordering a 5S lightning port replacement as mine is currently not working and unable to charge my phone.. my phone screen is also cracked but usable and ive been reading too many bad reviews of the lower priced screen replacements and dont HAVE to replace it so i wish not to :b

now, my question is, will the screen be able to handle being pulled off and then put back into place? im just afraid it wont be able to handle the pressure (maybe i can use the pry & cut/slice method instead of suction cups.) of being pulled and will snap or damage the LCD/digitizer and render it useless. on the top right corner its badly cracked with a bit of whats under the screen showing but the rest is fine and no cracks run below the second half of the screen allowing me to place a suction cup without much problem.

thanks in advance. :)

Razer blade on sides method over suction cup method especially when it comes to cracked glass and low quality / damaged / separated frames.

It's always worked out better for me especially when you get the hang of it on iPhone 5 series phones.

Might be some videos on YouTube showing how the razor blade method is done.

Edit: Wow there isn't any. I think I'll just make a video and upload on YouTube for how to do this.
