How can I activate an iPhone 6 without a SIM card?

Hi, I purchased an iPhone 6 off of eBay for 30 bux hoping to be able to refurbish it (it said that it wouldn't turn on, but it ended up being a dead backlight that I easily fixed). It had a passcode so I had to hook it up to iTunes and restore it. Now it is factory reset, and while it works I can't set it up because it gives me the message "SIM required; please insert a sim card." I am going to resell it on eBay, but first I have to test it and see what carrier it is locked to so I will have to activate it. How can I do this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

If you have a working SIM from another phone, put it in and test it.

You are repairing iPhones but don't own one? Maybe you should keep this one and get a cheap service. My service only runs me about $17 a month on

no, I don't have a Sprint SIM which is what the seller said that it ran on. Of course I have SIMs, but none active except for Verizon. Will a CDMA SIM suffice to activate a GSM phone?

It's gonna be Apple ID locked
