Keyboard stuck after spill

Hi,

I'm trying to recover my laptop after spilling coffee on it. I followed the guides here on ifixit to completely disassemble the machine and dry it out. I see no signs of corrosion on any of the components but:

-Keyboard does not work, as if a single key ("2") is permanently stuck, almost all other keys are non-responsive

-Does not work from battery

I'm getting a new machine in a few months but wanted to keep using this one in a limited capacity until then. I would be happy if I could disable the internal keyboard and just use keyboard viewer. Eventually I will pick up an external keyboard but wanted to make sure this would work first. Strangely, I get the same behavior using keyboard viewer to enter text as I do using the physical keyboard. I even tried physically disconnecting the keyboard from the logic board, but the system won't boot if I do that. Any suggestions on a work around?

I spill will usually short out a keyboard. I have had great success replacing theses boards. It's a lot of work doing all the screws and takes about 2.5 hours, but sure beats buying a new machine or an upper case.
