Spewing oil damage to engine parts

I recently had the oil changed on Craftsman LT 1500 riding mower. Technician replaced original drain plug with an easy drain plug(?). Used mower yesterday, noticed oil spewing and pouring out. Stopped engine immediately. Upon inspection, saw that when wheels are turned left, the steering link presses up against drain plug. Oil mess all over deck. Can this spewing oil cause damage to engine and belts? What do I need to ask technician to do when I can finally get him back here. Do belts, spark plug, engine components need to be replaced? Does mower need to be steam cleaned?

Frankly, do you still want to use a mechanic that puts a part in that may destroy your machine? He probably also did it without asking.

Sears needs to fix the problem their technician caused. I just want to know if there is possible damage to engine, belts, etc. If Sears won't fix the problem, I'll have to call someone else but I can't afford another repair bill. However, I will never again purchase a big item from Sears or call them for service.

Do not run the engine without oil. Ask for a manager when you call and request a more experienced mechanic. Sears should fix this for you and do the clean up and replace the oil for free as it was their fault. The mechanic probably lost the part and did not have the correct one on hand and just used whatever he had.

Thank you. Stopped engine as soon as we saw oil spewing. Had to push the tractor from front yard to garage.
