My Bro sloshed vodka/redbull across the keyboard, lap was off, some liquid found in battery area. dried it and tried it. Silly me!!. No go. Into airing closet for 3 days on its side. Keys aint sticking and it can boot up normally though not always, stay ok for few mins then blacks out with a sad wee squeek. Power light stays on till on/off button held down .

Chosen Solution

follow the teardown and clean dry the logic board to prevent corrosion. Just because it booted today doesn't mean it will continue.

You can search "liquid spill" or "liquor spill" and click Answers to see the stories and solutions/procedures of others.

Many thanks for that advice, will get daughter to decide, toolup etc and prepare to operate. any tips as to use of WD40 or any service spray on the board?. am used to color TV printed boards but this is new territory for this dude! .

I wouldn't use WD40 - a good non-corrosive/conductive electrical contact cleaner, soft brush and 99% iso-alcohol rinse to speed drying seems recommended. As I said there are many past answers to help formulate your plan of attack.
