Checking good or bad Capacitor?

I have a Visio television that the picture went out. I've looked at the circuit boards and can't seem to tell if any capacitors have gone bad. I have a Capacitor/ESR meter. How can I check to see which one is bad?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Is your set LED back lit? If so, your problem may be due to bad connections on the power supply board.

Google "bad capacitors" > images. Look for ones with swollen tops and/or leakage

@yosemitemomyou would have to unsolder the capacitors to check them properly with your meter. Always check for obvious damage first, like @mayer said check for leaking or domed looking caps. The other thing that comes in handy is a schematic. that way you base your testing on the error that your TV has. i.e. no power, no audio, no display etc. If you provide us with more details about what model your TV is as well as what the symptoms are, we might find more information for you. It will also help is you post some images of your boards with your question. That way we can see what you see. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that.

Normally if you have a bad cap. the top of it will bulge. If all your caps are flat on top, it's highly unlikely that's the problem

Although many times the top will bulge when bad, I would Not say that just because they are not bulging that it is highly unlikely they are bad. I have seen plenty of bad caps that did not bulge.
