iPhone 6 Might have died? Please help.

I replaced my iPhone 6 battery in February I made sure I was careful with everything but one day last week it died. While it was charging it just shut off. But it wasn't warm while charging(usually is) So I tried everything just in case it just needed a reboot but no luck. I opened it and it had a bad smell I took out the battery just in case and disposed of it properly. Any idea what happened? Not sure if it was the logic board or battery please help

The smell thing has me concerned. The board can damage chips and cause a weird smell but so can the battery. Cheap replacement batteries are available on iFixits websites. Here is the link: iPhone 6 Battery Replacement

Unless you hit a chip on the board, I doubt it is anything more serious then just a defective battery. Try to install a new battery (new original batteries are the best) and that should get your iPhone back up to normal in no time at all.
