Firmware locked due to being hacked

I have a firmware password on my MacBook Pro which I don't know. I took to Apple and they said my receipt for the MacBook didn't match the origin of purchase (my husband got t in Dubai but it says from Singapore). Thus, they can't help me. My ex hacked into my entire systems of everything and I don't know if he altered it or what but I can't log past the firmware screen with the padlock logo. Please help me as this is a really nice laptop which I would like to use. Tiffany

Try rebooting the laptop, and while it is powering on, hold Command (the key between control and alt) and R. You should land at a screen that says "recovery mode".

You will get the prompt for the firmware again, before you can do anything else.
