Sound faint. Had snagged headphone cord.

Used headphones to listen to Netflix. Moved and caught the cable. Kindle Fire 7 inch (I believe HD) got knocked down. Able to continue listening but only if the plug was not completely pushed in. Sound ok without being plugged in. UNTIL NOW. All combinations still has a weak sound. Very faint. I thought I had damaged the jack port. If so, can that be replaced? Could the speaker cable just be loose?

Thank you for any input orsuggestions.

Hi @maint007 ,

Here is a link to the ifixit guide to repair / replace the headphone socket in a Kindle Fire HD. 1st Generation

This guide also allows access to the speakers if the headphone socket is not the problem.

Couldn't find replacement socket part after a quick search. You might have better luck. Alternatively if you can't find one (if the socket is faulty that is) perhaps this is an option for parts if the price is alright.

Here is a link to the ifixit guide to teardown a Kindle Fire HD. 2nd Generation. Step 12 shows the removal of the headphone socket, available from ifixit

This guide also allows access to the speakers if the headphone socket is not the problem.

Hopefully this is of some help.
