New files corrupted/"lost" partition

New files corupted/unusable and "lost" Parallels partition?

Last spring my 2006 MacBook with was doing the "reclaiming" space before turning off and after a half hour I got impatient and held down the power button to force the shutdown. Upon restarting and since my Parallels partition is inaccessible even though it's still there, and I get a variety of files corrupted like new photos I read from my camera card, files I download from the Internet like program upgrades or music files and my program icons "disappear" from the applications ribbon even though they're still In the app folder. I took it to the genious bar and they said it "might be" the ramm I installed three years ago is failing. Today I put the original ram back in and still have the same troubles. I did verify the disk and had to repair the permissions but still can't get these problems to stop. I also don't have access to a genius bar now nor do I have the os x disks or my other software disks to try any reinstalling. Any ideas will be appriciated!

You are need either the original disk or a Retail copy of a newer system. When you closed the unit before it had completed its process some files became corrupted. You might get by with disk repair or you may need to an archive and install (best case) or a format and install. (worst case) If you have a copy of TechTool Pro or similar disk repair software you could try a repair with that. If not you can contact Apple and they will sell you a copy of the original software for your unit for about $15 a disk. When you receive the disk boot into it and run disk repair until it reports no trouble found. Good luck.
