What these spots are? and how to remove it

Hello, all

I would like to inquire about spots on my laptop display.

This problem did not exist before, but had a few days to appear and will tend to increase. I've tried cleaning with water, cleaning fluids screen, even toothpaste, but the problem is still there.

This is only visible for a few background color only. when the screen with a white background is not visible. I am sure this is a physical problem screen. but I ran out of ideas to solve them. whether here who experienced the same thing with me and solved it? I would appreciate any suggestions or solutions of your all.

thanks.

Frankly, I would just replace the complete assembly as it's a lot easier! Here's the IFIXIT guide you'll need to follow: MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Late 2013 Display Assembly Replacement and heres the part: MacBook Pro 15" Retina (Late 2013/Mid 2014) Display Assembly - Apple P/N: 661-8310

@mayer was that you?

@danj Yes, because it's the correct answer ;-) The answer you posted it on as a comment was not a viable solution.

I was impressed on how fast you did it after I had seconds before finished posting it ;-}

I had second thoughts it should be an answer too, after I added the pixel tester comment I was going to alter it. Thanks!

What would you use instead of aluminum?

Glass or diamond won't work as hitting it would fracture it. Steel or Iron are much to heavy and rust. Plastic is too soft.

I think aluminum is a good compromise given the limits of the other choices. What one can do is put a skin or hard shell to protect the finish. Using a padded case can help protect the system from the bangs. Sorry to say just like a car it does get worn.

Dust has either embedded itself into the Fluoresceine layer of the glass, Or gotten under the glass itself. If its embedded, you will need to replace the lens.

If it is under, you can simply lift the lens, and wipe it out. Make sure there is a seal around it again when you lay it down, or it will just happen again.

For these repairs, you will need a hot air gun, a pry tool, preferably a suction cup, and a lot of patience!

  • Start in a corner
  • Apply the heat in a constant state of movement, only to frame of glass.
  • Suction cup on corner, and lift. apply a pry tool under the lifted glass, and pry (THIS PROCEDURE IS A LOT LIKE IPAD REPAIRS, ONLY TOUGHER)
  • Work your way around gently. be sure to not damage the rubber frame.
  • Try not to crack the glass. it makes a lot more work then you need.

thanks scott for your quick answer.

i'm considering to replace the glass and the rubber frame too as it could be the way of the dust geting inside under the glass.

by

unfortunately the frame is excessively expensive. I was offering the lens as a suggestion to save money. the part is around 400$ if you want to replace the frame, while the part is closer to 30$ if you want to do the lens. either way, best of luck with your repair.
