Replaced iPhone 5s screen and now on boot-up, the screen begins normally with a white Apple logo on black screen. After about 4 to 5 seconds, white fades into the screen as you can see in the above picture.

Once powered on, there are some vertical lines that clear up pretty quickly and sometimes a white line across the top edge of the screen.

I've reseated the connectors and powered on and off several times. I thought I was pretty careful not to tighten any screws too much.

Any ideas?

I have now got two screens from iFixit with this same issue for the same phone. Bad batch??

If the previous screen still works try that one because this is most likely a bad screen.
