Teardown of Nintendo Switch already pubished? Memory upgrade?

https://www.sosav.fr/guides/consoles/nin...

The french "ifixit" made a teardown of the Nintendo Switch...before ifixit

Do you think the memory can be upgraded in the future with non official parts ?

When you upgrade the firmware, is it stored on the 32GB flash chip ?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I'll wait for the ifixit teardown. They didn't do the joy-Cons.

I'm so glad that the memory inside is on a easily replaced chip. Why? Because that means in 6 months or so they are going to release a 64gb or 128gb version and it won't be a whole respin of all the hardware and motherboard. Also, corrupted memory repairs are way easier, and the refurbished units will be cheaper in the long turn.

I don't think that you will be able to do a memory swap DIY style, because of security issues. But, at least it is a potential option. Doubtful though.

Swapping out the module is a 5-min job, however I suspect there will be some kind of security pairing to prevent it from working this easily.
