Hi,

What is the make and model number of the phone?

What app are you using to watch the videos?

Can you access the internet OK otherwise?

by

Sorry I didn't include more info, I am just not a good cell phone user

Make is Alcatel

Model A462C

As far as what app.. Google play isn't working, YouTube isn't working, as well as any video I click while online doesn't work. Everything worked fine until a couple days ago

No other problems getting online or staying online

As I said I am not real good at using cell phones, but I do watch a lot of how to crochet patterns on youtube. I also watch my news from my phone, which now will not even play news videos.

Thank you for any help you can give me

Pam

Hi,

If you can access the internet OK on your phone and Google Play and YouTube are the only apps that you are having problems with try the following and see if it resolves the YouTube and the Google Play problem

Try doing YouTube first. If one of the following methods work then do the same procedure for the Google Play app.

Go to Home > Settings > Apps, tap Apps swipe screen until Downloaded appears at top of screen, scroll down to find YouTube (if YouTube is not in Downloaded list, swipe to All and then scroll down to find YouTube)

Tap to enter YouTube, tap on Clear Cache option and follow the prompts. Once completed, return to the Home screen then try the YouTube app and see if works now.

If it still doesn't work, go back to the YouTube app as before but this time select Clear Data and follow the prompts. Once completed, return to the Home screen then try the YouTube app and see if works now.

Be aware that if you choose this option (Clear data), all your personalized settings for the YouTube app only will be reset to their default values. You may have to change the YouTube app settings to how you had it before.

Hopefully either one of the two above methods will resolve it for you.

If the YouTube app problem is resolved but not the Google Play, try updating the Google Play app. Open the Google play app and tap either the menu icon for the app (not sure about your phone whether there is an icon you have to tap or press the menu key (right hand soft key below the screen) when menu options box opens scroll to find Update and follow the prompts.
