Must I replace cracked back when replacing camera?

I've actually got a couple of questions for this repair, but the main one being whether the glass back of my S7 will crumble if it take it off to replace the camera? Thus, will I need to replace the back glass as well? My camera got rekt by water damage due to the cracked glass, so will replacing the back restore water resistance to prevent further damage?

Its best to assume that it will shatter further when removed, you need to use a reasonable amount of force (and plenty of heat) removing the back. I have had broken S7 backs come off still in one piece but also have had them break further.

As for water resistance a whole back will be more resistant than a broken one but even if you have can get some of the original adhesive you'll never be able to replicate the factory conditions that it was originally sealed under so you'll never be able to achieve the same water resistance so it would best to operate under the assumption that it is no longer waterproof.
