The F01 indicates a failed electronic machine control board. This error code can sometimes be caused by a glitch or power surge through the electrical lines. You may be able to clear this code by unplugging the washer for 5 minutes. If the code returns after plugging the washer back in, then the electronic machine control board will need to be replaced.

You can order a new control board from the Sears PartsDirect website.

Here's how to do it: http://media.fotki.com/1_p,wkwdftgtbkdgf...

Be sure to unplug the washer before accessing internal components. When you access the control board, I recommend transferring the wires from the old control board to the new replacement control board one connection at a time. Once you have all of the wires transferred, remove the old control board and mount the new control board in the washer. Reassemble and test the washer.

I got F-01 on my Kenmore HE2. I took out the control board using instructions found on Youtube, but unlike the Youtubers, I did NOT have a blown solder joint. I racked my brains for what it could be. I decided to check the thermal fuse, which necessitated disassembling the dryer. When I did that, I saw that the belt was broken. So now the question is, did I have two problems (malfunctioning primary electronic control + broken belt) or just one problem (broken belt, fooling the electronic controls into an F-01 error code)? I called my local appliance parts store. They had a belt in stock for $25. I asked if a broken belt could cause an F-01 electronic control error, and he said he had never heard of that happening. This was a tough call because a replacement electronic control board is $150-$250 and the dryer is 10 years old. I decided to give it a shot replacing the belt. AND IT WORKED! Dryer seems to be fixed. There wasn't a problem with the electronic control board after all.
