Home button wont work

i have a iphone 5 that the home button on it will not work i have replaced it a couple times now i just put a new home button in it not to long ago and it worked fine and it stopped working out of no where and same with the power so i had no way to turn my screen on but if i took out the screws on the bottom of the screen out and let it lift up and the home button would sometimes work when i pushed the screen down so thats how i turned it on and with apples new $@$* update it makes it even harder to open so i changed the flex cable charging cable on the bottom that the home bottom connects to just now and it didnt fix it so i think it may be just the home button and i think i have a good one lying around but just wondering if it could be a software problem cause it seems like my parts break really fast i havent had it for even a year yet and ive replaced the battery like 5 times the home button 3 or 4 the screen 2 cause i got it cracked and other little things a couple times so are my parts breaking cause of software or something anyone got any ideas

I've had a weird issue likes this but on a iPhone 5C.

What I did to solve this issue was either lifting up the spring contact on the home button connector on the charging port assembly or adding something under the home button gold contact points (screen side) to increase depth or increase contact of the home button gold contacts.

Definitely something worth trying because I'm out of ideas after that.

What I used to increase thickness is double sided tape (make sure it's thin of course).

yeah ive done that i just put in some paper to lift it up it shouldnt be that cause if my screen is all the way down it should be connecting i think ill just replace the home button and play around with it thank you
