How to install SSD and a second drive?

I currently have a Late 2009 27 inch iMac with an i7 processor. I would like to take out the optical drive and install an SSD drive. Is this possible? If it is, does anyone have a guide on how to do it? I have installed RAM on a MacBook before, but I haven't attempted anything like this.
