How do you unlock your phone drive?

An FBI thing that came up because one of my friends went on a site that he shouldn't be on and it popped up and now I can't get it off

Does the home button or the left soft button do anything? Have you tried a force shut down by holding the power button?

A factory reset via recovery mode (volume up+home+power when the phone is off) will do the trick but that will also erase ALL of the data on the device.

Try Safe Mode.

  • Turn the device off.
  • Press and hold the Power key.
  • When 'Samsung Galaxy S5' appears on the screen, release the Power key.
  • Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  • Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  • Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • Release the Volume down key when you see Safe Mode.
  • Uninstall apps that are causing a problem.
