Could I replace the hard drive with an SSD

Like the title says is there a way to switch the stock drive with an SSD.

@ethanquincy There should be no reason why not, however the question here would be more how to do it than whether you can (finding the correct guide or adventuring yourself)

I've asked the author of this post if he could add a full view of the back of the machine, without the cover blocking the parts, to see if the HD is easily accessible.

Another issue I could see is Windows license restrictions.

You might want to look into Linux, depending on your use of the computer.

Yes, you can. SSDs are great upgrades and I highly recommend one. I recommend this one, because of the price to performance ratio. Use the guide in the previous answer to swap it out, which shouldn't be to hard. I hope this helps.

Did you replace one with an SSD? I'm currently in the process but the case is very slim with no room for a 9mm or even a 7mm SSD/HDD. the Original drive is 5mm which I haven't seen one sold in SSD. It's very hard to find a new 5mm HDD at this time.

There is no such thing as a 5 mm HDD. Does the hard drive have a ribbon cable coming from it?
