Recovering Data from MacBook Pro SSD?

Hi - I have a water damaged MacBook Pro Retina (2013-2014) that isn't booting and I need a way of extracting the important data off its SSD.

At first I thought this would work by placing the MacBook Pro SSD inside a MacBook Air, then booting off it, but the drive won't fit.

Are there any adapters I can use for this SSD, or other recovery methods?

Thanks!

OWC make a couple of enclosures that will handle the sticks. They are called Envoy and Envoy Pro. You didn't tell me your exact model so I can't tell you the exact one you need. But here they are:

You can also find them on eBay as a lot of people buy one, use it to recover their data and then sell it. Personally I use them for system installations and put my diagnostic tools on them. So I have one for Sierra, one for El Capitan and one for Lion.
