Replaced automatic gear shifter knob but now I can not shift the gears

Handle on gear shifter came off. I bought new screws and spring and installed it. Now I can not push in button to change gears. I can change gears manually

I'm guessing that when you put the new one on that something didn't get lined up. Take it back off and make sure the spring is in right spot. Has to be something with that.
