Why wont the button on my microwave open the door

I have a kitchenaid microwave. I dont know the model number. I push the button to open the door and it wont open. The button is broken. Can i fix it myself or do i have to take it to get checked.

Your problem is that to replace or repair it you have to get it open. It might be cheaper to just replace it, if it a stand alone.

I bought the microwave about 3 months ago from a friend. It works geat and the only problem is the button broke yesterday. Is it fixable diy?

Please upload a photo so we can see if there is a way to open it to repair it. Look on the back or see if there is a light door on the side that might give us a model number.
