Why a vertical line in fixed position on screen?

I noticed there is a vertical line in fixed position on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013) screen.

The light of this line change over time.

Sometime it's strong and easy to see.

Sometime it's weak so can not see on white background.

Here are photos I took in 2 cases:

The line is a bad TAB connection which is the mating of the electrical pathways within the LCD's glass panel and the flexible interface that connects to the drivers on the back of the LCD panel.

Sadly, there is no fix here other than replacing the display. The cause was likely something banged the lid or was jammed between the lid & keyboard causing the glass the to buckle enough to break the connection which is very fragile.

The reason you may see it shifting in color or disappearing is the connection sometimes re-establishes.

To fix this will require replacement of the display or the full lid assembly.

I like your explain so much, Dan.

I hope a full lid assembly can help. Looking for a tutorial about this.
