PS4 USB not recognising controllers

For some reason my PS4 isn't recognising my controllers via wireless or usb.

Had a software update the other day that corrupted my hard drive, so have wiped and reformatted using a pc and now cant reboot in safe mode due to the controllers not being recognised.

Note: they will charge but not connect. Have tried resetting them both and multiple USB cables.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@joshwalz ,Josh, Turn off your PS4 and unplug it, wait for for 3 minutes and plug back in. Now use your controller to turn machine back on and see if it solves issue. Found this solution at PS forum link below.

Good luck.
