Less Vivid Colors After Screen Replacement

after replacing the screen and digitizer, everything is slightly more faint than before the repair. i would say the colors are about 10-15% less vivid now. i assume it's just because it's not an original part and so the quality won't be as good, but i'm hoping maybe there's another reason?

You have to understand the parts market.

When screens are made, almost all in China, there are many variables. Some use OEM LCDs, some use aftermarket LCDs. The OEM obviously have similar quality but aftermarket varies widely. The next thing to remember is that the iPhone 5 has been out for a very long time and true OEM screens are extremely hard to find. Most of the time they have been refurbished and sometimes they have been refurbished many times.

This is why the quality parts still go for such high prices. Its also why so many of us that deal in parts only buy from places with stellar reputation. Sure, you can buy a screen on ebay or mengtor for next to nothing. But the quality will be a dice roll.
