Is there a motherboard battery on the aluminum tower Mac Pro, and if so, how do you replace it?

Yes there is. Location on the logic board depends on your model. What year model is your machine? Generally it is located just above the bottom PCI slot on the logic board.

It's a 3 volt, BR2032
