It took a bath with my 3 year old.

So I dropped my Note 4 in the tub. Instantly pulled it out. maybe in for two second.

I took out the battery and sim card. Then placed it over a heater vent for the night. In the morning I tried and it turns on but the screen in black.

If I call it will ring and since I know where to swipe I can answer it and talk with people.

When powered off and charging the little battery appears on the screen and show the % of the charge. So the screen actually still works.

Now from time to time when I turn it the screen will flash on for less then a half second. Enough for me to see I have text messages.

When I plug it into a PC I get a message saying the usb device has malfunctioned and window is unable to connect to it.

Any ideas on a cheap fix. would rather not buy another phone.

@phishpond first off you want to stop using it, charging it or doing anything with it for now. Keep the battery out. Then you want to go ahead and disassemble it using this Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Teardown

To properly clean it, you must remove all EMI shields and use this guide It was written for an iPhone but all the points are still pertinent to your phone. After you cleaned it properly, replace the battery since it will fail due to the water damage. Reassemble your phone and then check what your phone does or does not do. Water damage is the hardest to repair since virtually any part may have failed.

Very little water got into the back of the case. Neither water indicator was hit. One on the battery and one on the phone under the battery. Also changed out the battery and same results. My battery worked fine in the other phone.

Thanks for the info.
