Unable to connect controller

Hello iFixit community;

I have my Playstation 4 which was working perfectly up until several days ago. Out of the blue my controller would not connect. I thought perhaps it had lost connection so I tried connecting using a USB cable, but still nothing. I did a little research online and have tried pushing the tiny reset button on the back of the controller. I have tried restarting the PS4 (unplugging and plugging back in), have tried different controllers and cables but still nothing. It just will not connect. When I plug my controller in, it flashes orange so I know it is charging and somehow has a connection with the console, but when I press the PS button, the controller just keeps on flashing white.

I'm stumped at to what the problem could be and what the resolution is. I don't think the 10XX series would use a different controller than the 12XX series, unless I am mistake there?

If need be, I can open up the console as I am out of warranty unfortunately.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

This problem has two things that usually fix it. It's normally either the bluetooth module on the motherboard or the NAND is corrupted. Unfortunately there isn't a good way to tell which it is so usually you have to replace the BT module and if that doesn't fix it you would have to check the NAND.

Hope this helps. Sorry it's most likely not an easy fix.
