won't start - wet keyboard may be the issue

my son was wiping the keyboard with a 'damp' cloth,

now it won't start... at all

the battery shows a charge

no action when attempting to start

could it be just the keyboard?

I could replace that.

Could it be something else?

What are the options?

TIA

Mayer: Thanks so much for addressing my issue.

Still no action.

The charger lights up when attached but the battery does not appear to be charging.

There are no sounds of any kind when I attempt to start the computer.

I'm thinking it's not the power supply as the charger lights up (and I think that makes for completing a circuit) but again, no battery charge and the machine won't start.

He was using rubbing alcohol to clean the keys, I don't think he turned the machine off first as he said it worked fine until he shut down,,, then he could not restart,

Is there a way to test components without having to purchase replacements?

Shut it down and let it sit for a couple of days. Try to find out why he was wiping down the keyboard.

I would remove the battery while its sitting. The question about why is a good one--if he spilled something on it you should disassemble it and clean it out and then dry it. Good luck. +
