How to clean peanut butter out of front metal mesh panel.

Neighbor's kid christened my Bose Soundlink II with a peanut butter sandwich. The mess is confined to the holes of the front metal mesh. How do I get this apart to clean it?

I'd try pouring boiling water into the backside of the grill to remove it. Then wash in warm water a dish soap. If it's really dried, use a toothpick to clean the holes.
