To start with the Kingston SUV400S37 SSD is a SATA III (6.0 Gb/s) drive which by the spec sheet also is able to run at SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) interfaced systems. So it should work from that perspective. But! You likely need to update its firmware as well as your system. Here's the Kingston drive tools: SSD Manager Sadly it requires MS Windows to run. So you'll need to take your SSD out and use a SATA to USB adapter to hook it up to a Windows system to make sure the firmware is up to date as well as lock the SATA speed if you can to SATA II.

As for your Mac you'll need to put your old drive back in (if its still working) so you can check your systems firmware level. Here's the Apple T/N you'll need to reference: About EFI and SMC firmware updates for Intel-based Mac computers Make sure you're at the listed version or newer.

Let us know how it goes.

Do i need any imac to ssd sata 3gb/s data cable?

Not sure I follow you here. The current cable in your system should be just fine (don't mess with it).

As to connecting the drive to your Windows system you'l need a SATA to USB adapter like this one: Startech 2.5" SATA to USB adapter.

Okay got it thanks! Yet i didn't get chance to lock the sata speed. I will do asap and update you.
