Remove SD card from SIM slot on Motorola Xoom

By mistake inserted a SD card in the SIM slot.

Saw the repair steps and it looks like this area is open just after the "slide of the Panel".

Can I access the SIM area to remove the SD card at this level?

Options

Yes, Slide the panel off and you should be able to retrieve the card. This is common with these and I have retrieved sim cards and SD cards from a few.
