Touch screen not working

I have been trying to repair the touch screen on my iPad mini. We got the old screen off and the new on. The home button works, but despite trying to attach the new screen a couple times, the touch screen doesn't work. What do we need to try to get it to work again?

Answer this question I have this problem too

The iPad mini is a very fussy device to repair. 1. Make sure you have a high quality screen or you will have issues. 2 make sure you put kapton tape around the inside of the screen to prevent ghost touching. If you can you put on the old screen on the iPad to see if the touchscreen will work with the old screen, if it does then your new screen is defective.

Dc put it perfectly. Of all the iPads the mini is the most frustrating repair. Screen absolutely needs to be high quality for a good result. You can get away with lower quality screens for the other models but for the mini try to use original. Make sure you look at the old screen and transfer every piece of cloth tape you can find to the new one...make it look identical as the broken one...without the cracks of course:)
