iPhone 6 Plus won't charge unless turned off

Had my iPhone 6 Plus for over 2 years now. Temperature warning has came on before in the past due to heat. Otherwise never dropped the phone or had any other issues. Recently I plugged my phone into my friends car charger with a non Apple usb lightning cable. My phone did not charge when connected to it. I left it plugged in incase it was supplying a small charge. Phone still died. When I got back to my truck I plugged it into my car charger and nothing happened which was odd (it always charges my phone). so later I plugged it into my apple charger and cable at home and it took 20+ min for it to come back on. Went out later the same night and phone died naturally while I was out using it. Came back home and plugged it in and went to sleep. Next morning phone did not turn on.

I replaced the battery in it and the Lightning port to fix the issue. Phone still didn't charge, but came back to life due to the new battery. I cannot connect to iTunes and cannot I update my phone (software update always searching). I have a device to tell me how fast the phone is charging and when the phone is ON it is at 0.090 when I turn the phone OFF it jumps up to 0.445 Before the issue phone would charge at 1.458- 1.509 (it fluctuates). I have tried using different chargers but I get the exact same readout.

I am currently running iOS 8.0.2. The newest update available at the moment is iOS 9.3.2 (but like I said I cannot update) also have tried multiple hard resets and even reset all settings nothing helped.

Any suggestions to fixing the problem? Possible burnt out fuse?

The Lightning interface chip is likely the culprit. Maybe the car had some sort of electrical surge and fried the chip so it no longer accepts USB connections.

easily could be a u2 chip failure. I would try replacing that. Common for this to fail after using generic chargers with the iPhone.

I did this repair on an iPhone 6 plus today, it was in fact the u2 chip causing it to not charge when on.
