Folder pops up with a flashing?
When I start my Mac it pops up with a folder flashing with a ? On it. How do I fix it? I try command r and nothing.

Command R is for recovery on a Mac. Sounds like your HDD is having issues, and you are trying to recover your MAC.
Do you have another computer that you can use to fix the HDD. That is the first thing I would do. Second is if the HDD could not be repaired is I would hope you have done a Time Machine backup online or some other backup that you can go to and purchase a new HDD and Install it and then restore your backup.
If not then I hope you have all the required CD Media to reinstall your system on a new HDD.
