It would help to know why you took it in and what they did. Are they aware they cracked your screen?

Resetting PRAM and NVRAM

1. Shut down the computer (by holding the power button).

2. Turn on the computer. Wait until I hear the boot sound.

3. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys simultaneously.

4. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.

5. Release the keys.

After doing this....

Reset the System Management Controller

1. Shut down the computer (well, it was already off)

2. Unplugged all cables from the computer, including the power cord and any display cables.

3. Waited at least fifteen seconds. I waited several minutes.

4. Plugged the power cord back in, making sure the power button was not being pressed at the time.

5. Reconnected my keyboard and mouse to the computer.

6. Pressed the power button to start up your computer.

If this does not help, the problem could be either a hard drive going bad or a bad ram module. Make sure all external drives are un-plugged.

A white screen is usually associated with a hard drive issue. Tell us about the drive, if it has been replaced, what operating system you are running and what drive was installed. Are you getting a lot of fan noise?

Mayer sorry about delay bank holiday weekend here .hard drive is the original 1TB, O/S is 10.6.8 and there is no fan noise. on started up you get one sound all white screen, gray apple logo with spinning circle no second sound then on desktop and everything fine. restart or shutdown and process repeats.

Just bear in mind that couriers broke screen during a full house removal and delivery and only noticed during unpacking.

Did they crack the glass or the actual screen? Do you have an external back up drive?
