PS3 turns on by itself... Is it a sensor problem?

Hi, I have a CECHA-01 that powers on by itself from time to time when it doesn't already have a disc in it, and the Blue LED will flash on power up. Sometimes when this happens, the blue LED stays on, and if I want to insert a disc, it won't accept it, as if it already has one in. To resolve that, I usually have to use the "force eject" method (Hold the eject button until the eject motors kick in), at which point, the light will go out, and I can insert a disc. If I insert a disc and power it down, it doesn't do this... so it properly detects an actual disc when I insert one (if one is not already in it) and when it's in stand by with one inserted, it works fine. If I don't have a disc inserted, then there's definitely a problem where the PS3 thinks that one is being inserted.

I also want to add that I have never had a problem with the PS3 reading any discs (PS1, PS2, or PS3/Blu-ra discs). I've heard of the sensor not detecting when discs are inserted, but is the opposite also a sign of a bad disc sensor? Is there a chance that dust or debris interfering with the sensor?

It seems like NO ONE has had an issue like this - I hope someone here knows or has experienced the problem I'm having.
