Why does my Polar G1 doesn´t find a GPS signal?

I have a Polar watch along with a G1 GPS sensor.

After switching the sensor on the red light flashes, indicating that the G1 searches for GPS signals. But it ever finds any, no matter how long it searches and no matter where I am.

So I guess the antenna might be broken. How can I repair or replace it?
