Do I need to replace only the button or the whole body of the phone?

Mate I have almost the exact same problem! Woke up one morning to find the volume button on my nexus 6p bent inwards near the top! never dropped it or anything but I think even light pressure on it from an awkward angle can cause this - even if it leans against something exactly there with a little pressure can cause it to bend inwards.

I've contact Huawei and apparently im getting a jiffy bag to send it to them in. I just wish I could have got it directly from google as they are more understanding from what im reading and the last thing I want is issues with Huawei issuing an RMA on a device that seems quite clearly vulnerable at a crucial component! Theres many other people with the exact same issue unfortunately.

I have variant of your problem, I bent the power button by one in million drop on table edge and now phone power cycles repeatedly until battery eventually dies. I've tried to un wedge button with micro screwdriver but only managed to scratch the crap out of phone.

Todd, contact the huawei support centre and tell them the button bent from a slight knock against the edge. They will send you a jiffy bag to send it them. Write clearly you want the button REPLACED not straightened out. They did this for me and even replaced my own scratched metal casing too.

anenigma, did they wipe your device? I have the same thing with my power button and it happened before I got to back up my data. there are some inportant things on my phone that I need access to.

Easily fixed by replacing the button at a local repair shop or simply bending back the current button using a vice to bend it back.
