Bought new battery, Very slow charging

So my mac after about 4 or 5 years of use got a pregnant battery which was damaging the unibody so i bought one from here and replaced it. After i replaced it, everything was normal, the battery life and just in general everything. but the only problem is that it charged EXTREMELY slowly.

I tried both the default power adaptor that came with the mac and a aftermarket power adapt made for a 17" macbook which has a higher wattage.

Any solutions to this besides another new battery?

quick answers are appreciated since i plan to use this mac for my school soon

Answer this question I have this problem too

Older batteries charge very quickly because the capacity drops off as they age. Chances are you need to get used to the time required to fully charge the battery when it's new.

When it is at 40% it estimated it will take 12 hours to charge. even when the laptop was brand new this is way too long to charge a battery.

note: i did a 0% to 100% charge and it took around 26 hours. using common sense, im pretty sure it shouldnt be like this.
