Does the iPod Touch 4 have the same glass as the iPhone 4?

Mainly asking about this in terms of strength and smugyness.

No, It doesn't. It uses the same glass as the previous generation iPod touch. It doesn't have the aluminosilicate glass (very strong type of glass), nor the oleophobic coating (Fingerprint resistant) that is used in the iPhone 4.

Explains why I was never able to clean my screen properly, because the Touch lacks the oleophobic coating

Don't know about the iphone, but I have an ipod touch 3rd gen. 64gb unit and just got the new ipod touch 4 64gb one and the glass on the older one seems better and stronger and if you press down hard on the new one it gets that rainbow colored blotch that disappears like on most LCD monitors do and the older ones didn't do that. So, I'm not digging that. Randy

Well, the new iPod touch has the screen a lot closer to the glass than it was on the iPod touch 3rd generation, (probably how they got it a few mm thinner,) so it would be easier to get discoloration if you press the glass hard.

Same thing was done with the iPhone 4 to achieve a thinner size, it is easier to also discolor the screen by pressing hard on the glass.
