Or simply check to see if door is securely shut! Check simple stuff first. It'll save time and unnecessary effort. That was problem in my case today...duh!!!

That's a door lock error code.

After you determine what it is, please give us the exact make and model number so we can get you to the correct parts if you need them.

Cause 1

Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly

The door lock secures the washer door shut during operation. Once the washer door is closed, the washer can begin operating. If the door lock is defective, the washer door will not latch properly. The door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically. Inspect the door lock for damage. If the door lock is damaged or does not latch properly, replace it. To determine if the door lock has failed electrically, use a multimeter to test each of the door lock switches for continuity. If one of the switches does not have continuity, replace the switch.

Cause 2

Door Lock

The door lock assembly might be defective. Inspect the door lock for damage. If the door lock is damaged, replace it.

Cause 3

Door Latch

The door latch assembly might be defective. Inspect the door latch for damage. If the door latch is damaged, replace it.

I like to manually rotate the drum after a wash to be sure I got all my socks into the dryer. If I do it too soon after the “END” display the washer seems to get confused, tries to lock the (open) door and then buzzes with “dE” displayed. Power off, back on, back to normal.

Mine washed just fine and had finished but had this code. I pushed the power button twice (as in off, pause, on) and the door unlocked. It is only a couple months old so nothing should be worn out by now. There may have been a power interruption, however, which could have caused the malfunction.
